The Guy Morel Institute of the University of Seychelles had developed an ‘Introductory Certificate in Seychelles Financial Services’ programme which replaces the ‘Foundations in Seychelles Financial Services’. The programme, which has been endorsed by the Financial Services Authority (FSA), has been developed in collaboration with the Seychelles Association of Offshore Practitioners (SAOPRA). The fourth cohort of the Seychelles Young Leaders Programme (SYLP) will start their overseas placement. 2 students have already arrived in Europe. On Sunday 6th March, 2 students left for Pretoria, South Africa in the morning, and a group of 16 students left for Indonesia, Jakarta in the evening. The Introduction to Geoinformatics course started on Thursday 3rd March 2016 at the Anse Royale campus. The course has been scheduled to end on Thursday 26th May 2016 whereby the participants will meet for 4 hours every Thursdays for 15 weeks.
A group of students attending the Stores and Inventory Management course went on an educational visit to the Seychelles Breweries at Le Rocher on Thursday 3rd March. The students are staff of the Seychelles Agricultural Agency and they are taking the course under the IFAD/CLISSA project which was recently contracted to UniSey through The Guy Morel Institute.
The Introduction to Geoinformatics course started on Thursday 3rd March at the Anse Royale campus. The course runs until 26th March and will be for 4 hours every Thursday for 15 weeks. 25 students are currently following the course which is conducted by Ms Rachel Onezime.
Representatives from the University of Freiburg, in collaboration with UniSey, delivered a workshop on renewable energy technology from 29th February to 4th March 2016. UniSey students and staff participated in the 9th Seychelles Eco-Friendly Marathon on Sunday 28th February. The marathon set off from Beau Vallon at 7am and covered the Northern and North Eastern areas of Mahé.

A group of 15 participants from various private and public organisation are following a short course in “Customer Service Excellence” at The Guy Morel Institute. The 4-day course which started today is focusing on change within an organisation and bringing professional, high level customer service concepts into common practice.
