Students Union

The University of Seychelles Students Union (USSU) is a non-profit unincorporated organisation and the governing body for students at UniSey.


OUR MISSION

  • USSU mission is to improve the experience of student life on campus by providing representation, development opportunities and quality facilities and services for all of our students.

  • Making it easy for you to improve your skills and enjoy new experiences.

Our proposals in this area include providing space in the Union and on our website for you to grow your skills and get access to advice, support and opportunities so that you graduate with a great CV.


CHARITABLE OBJECTIVES

The Union’s charitable objectives are the advancement of education of Students at the UniSey for the public benefit by:

  • Providing opportunities for the expression of Student opinion and actively representing the interest of Students;
  • Acting as a channel of communication in dealing with the UniSey and any other external bodies;
  • Promoting the interest and welfare of UniSey Students during their course of study and representing, supporting and advising Members;
  • Providing social, cultural, sporting and recreational activities and forums for discussions and debate for the personal development of its Members; and
  • Liaising and developing relationships with relevant organizations and affiliated bodies


HOW TO BE A USSU MEMBER

  • Upon enrolment at Unisey, each registered student shall become a Member of the Union.
  • Students not wanting to be a member should notify the UniSey in writing

PRIVILEGES OF BEING A USSU MEMBER

  • Use the property and premises of the Union subject to such rules and regulations as may from time to time be in force;
  • Attend and speak at any Union meetings, clubs, societies or other groupings;
  • Vote at General Meetings and Union elections and ballots;
  • Stand in any Union election.

USSU body consists of:

  • President

  • Marketing Officer
  • Public Relations Officer
  • Faculty of Arts and Social Development Representative
  • Faculty of Arts and Social Development Representative 

Elections are held annually to elect a body for the academic year.
