The Diploma in Computing and IT is aimed at providing the opportunity for students to gain professional competence and other workers to enhance their professional competence, which will in turn, benefit themselves and more importantly, their organisations. Moreover, given the dynamic and rapid change in the information technology world lately has stirred the urgent need to equip students, staff, parents and different workforce with the necessary skills and knowledge of how to navigate and manipulate the different softwares and hardwares given the change from face-to face to virtual interaction due to the COVID-19 pandemic since last year.

This has led UniSey to re-look at the programme and ensure it meets the different requirements. In the Seychelles context, an IT personal needs to be multi-skilled to be able to survive in the workplace. Multi-skilled meaning a person should have sound knowledge of programming, networking, and web design. Our alumni who specialized in programming and web design have expressed their wish to follow networking courses as it is required at their workplace and networking students wish to follow web design or programming. The new course structure which gives students opportunities to learn all three areas reflects the request of alumni and stakeholders.

Aim of the programme

The aim of this diploma is to equip the students with the knowledge and skills they will need to underpin a career in this sector. It has been developed:
