RATIONALE

The course provides instruction and practical training on efficient communicative techniques based on competent use of language. It includes three modules focusing, accordingly, on the significance of   convincing messages in the contemporary information-overloaded world, linguistic tools and techniques to construct such messages and cases for their application in different socio-cultural domains and through various media. Though the course caters to a broad variety of practitioners from a number of business, academic and administrative areas, its contents can be adjusted and customized to meet the needs of a particular group of listeners.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

As a result of their participation in this course, it is anticipated that  the learners  will be able to:

  • Understand challenges of the contemporary information overloaded communication and importance of being convincing to get attention.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of a number of linguistic tools and techniques to construct convincing messages.
  • Construct successful communicative tactics based on the purpose and circumstances of communication.
