Bijay George joined UniSey from India in November 2015 to take up a position as Lecturer in ICT. He obtained a Bachelor of Technology (Electronics and Communication) degree in 2010 from the Cochin University in Kerala. Subsequently, he achieved certifications in various applications of Microsoft, Cisco and Open Source software. He has plans, before long, to complete a Master’s course.
From 2011 to 2012 Bijay worked as an IT lecturer at UniSey but decided to return to India at the end of that year in order to gain industrial experience. He joined a company, CSS Technologies Ltd, in the post of Associate Systems Engineer. Projects undertaken included the configuration and administering of Microsoft SharePoint 2007 and SharePoint 2013 in both a production and development environment, as well as a related consultancy assignment in SharePoint for a Norwegian client.
While gaining this practical experience, Bijay knew that he wanted to return to a teaching environment and over a period of three years he took the opportunity to teach students in a coaching centre. When a vacancy arose at the India-Seychelles Centre of ICT Excellence at Mont Fleuri, he was successful in his application. He is a specialist teacher in mathematics as well as aspects of IT, especially databases and networking. His students will gain from his technical expertise combined with his undoubted enthusiasm for teaching.
