Dr. Zelime has over 11 years of experience in the educational field prior to joining the University of Seychelles. His career in education started 20 years ago in 1998 as a teacher of English as a second language at secondary level. He did that until 2004 when he moved to Teacher training at the National Institute of Education (NIE). During that time he taught different modules ranging from Reading, Writing, learning theories, academic writing, study skills and Educational research. He also partook in different course developments, mentoring of students up to Masters level etc. Then in 2009 he began working with UniSey as a lecturer for English language and literature. He taught different modules on the BA English program, such as Introduction to Language, Language and media, Approaches to text, Victorian etc. He was also Head of Department from 2010 to 2014. He also represented academic staff on the University council from 2012 to 2014.
Dr. Zelime holds a BA in Modern English Studies from the University of Wales, Cardiff , a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and a Master’s Degree in English Language Teaching from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom. He recently completed his PhD studies in Language Teaching and Learning and Language in Education Policy with Umeå University, Sweden.
Justin is married and has one daughter.
