The James R. Mancham Peace and Diplomacy Research Institute at the University of Seychelles hosted the inaugural Ambassador’s Panel, marking a key event in the 15th anniversary celebrations of the University. The panel showcased four esteemed former or retired Seychellois Ambassadors: Alain Butler-Payette, Ronny Jumeau, Peter Sinon, and Bernard Shamlaye. Each ambassador brought a wealth of experience from their work on various continents, where they advocated for Seychelles’ interests globally. The panellists touched on topics such as the origins and history of Seychelles diplomacy and the leadership of Seychelles in multilateral forums on Climate Change and the Blue Economy.

The event was officially launched by the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Seychelles, Ms. Joëlle Perreau, who also announced the creation of a network of Seychellois ambassadors to enhance international collaboration.
