Intellectual Property Seminar

UniSey in collaboration with ARIPO and the Registration Division of Seychelles organized a two-day Intellectual Property Seminar from 17th to 18th February 2026.   Representatives from ARIPO and Registration Division made presentations on Intellectual Property both in Seychelles and internationally.

ARIPO was represented by Dr. Outule Rapuleng; Head of ARIPO Academy and Mr. John Kagwa; an expert and patent examiner.  ARIPO works with Seychelles to strengthen its intellectual property (IP) system, fostering innovation and protecting local products, particularly for small and medium enterprises. As a member, Seychelles aligns national laws with international standards, accessing technical support, training, and streamlined registration for patents and trademarks via the Registrar General’s office. The collaboration aims to ensure that Seychelles’ creative and innovative products are protected from being copied, allowing for maximum economic benefit.
