Magali Rocamora Solé is an independent consultant and early-career researcher specialising in environmental policy, ocean protection, island conservation, and climate change adaptation. Her work spans a wide range of environmental topics, integrating both social and natural sciences.

She is currently a part-time lecturer at the University of Seychelles and serves as Projects Coordinator for the local NGO The Ocean Project Seychelles. Magali speaks five languages fluently and holds an MSc in Sustainable Development from the Institut d’Études Politiques / Sciences Po Lille (France) and an MSc in International Cooperation for Development from the University of Salamanca (Spain).

She has extensive experience in project management and research, focusing on areas such as Key Biodiversity Areas, conservation funding, climate change adaptation, ocean governance, environmental education, and marine plastic pollution. She has collaborated with organisations including the Tara Ocean Foundation, Biotope Océan Indien, Conservation International, and CEPF.

Magali has contributed to field monitoring and research on Aride Island (White-tailed Tropicbirds, Hawksbill turtles, Sooty terns) and Aldabra Atoll Special Reserves (waders, landbirds, giant tortoises, and green turtles), as well as to oceanographic missions in the Western Indian Ocean aboard the R/V Marion Dufresne (IFREMER) and the R/V S.A. Agulhas II (Monaco Explorations).

She is a member of the Western Indian Ocean Marine Science Association (WIOMSA) and of the Women in Marine Science (WiMS) network.
