The Senior Librarian manages, organises, evaluates and disseminates information, providing support members of the academic community including lecturing staff, students and researchers and other staff members.
She interacts with the academic community of the University in order to determine their requirements of reading materials and acquires same for the Library.
She classifies the documents bringing out their contents in class numbers, provides reference services and documentation services to the University staff members, research scholars and students.
The post holder also undertakes functions such as:
a) Cataloguing and classification of Library materials;
b) Resource ordering and book loans;
c) Specialist collections provision;
d) Library management;
e) Library projects
She coordinates the daily operation of the Library Service of the University.
