Mr. Ajith Bandara

Mr. Ajith Bandara is a well-qualified and experienced lecturer with expertise in Communications and Information Systems. He has played a central role in the development of this field at UniSey and currently leads a dedicated faculty team as Head of Programme.

Ajith’s academic journey began in his home country of Sri Lanka, where he obtained a Higher National Diploma in Civil Engineering (BTEC, UK), a BSc in Computer Science & Mathematics from the University of Peradeniya, a Postgraduate Diploma in Teacher Education from the University of Colombo, and a Master’s in Teacher Education from the Open University of Sri Lanka. Recognising his passion for computing science, he subsequently earned an MSc in Computer Science from the University of Colombo and is currently pursuing a PhD focused on developing intelligent tutor systems.

Ajith began his career in teacher training with the Sri Lankan Ministry of Education before moving to Seychelles, where he lectured at the Seychelles Institute of Education prior to joining UniSey. He maintains an active role in teaching, research, and professional development, including consultancy projects and short courses in IT applications. Known for his patience and clarity, Ajith is highly regarded as a conscientious educator able to explain complex topics effectively.
