BSc Environmental Science Students Recognised for Field Survey Work Supporting Sustainable Cruise Tourism Research
The University of Seychelles is proud to recognise students from the BSc Environmental Science programme who received Certificates of Participation for their valuable contributions as surveyors in the SeyCCAT-funded research project titled “Direct Economic and Specific Environmental Impact Assessment of Cruise Activities in Seychelles’ Inner Islands, in relation to the MPAs”.
Implemented through a collaborative partnership between the University of Seychelles, Seychelles Sustainable Tourism Foundation (SSTF), Mascontour, and Worms University of Applied Sciences, the project aims to strengthen understanding of both the economic value and the environmental impacts of cruise tourism within Seychelles’ inner islands and Marine Protected Areas (MPAs). The students’ professionalism and fieldwork played an important role in supporting data collection to guide sustainable tourism and marine ecosystem protection.
