Mrs. Nyasha Gurira joined the University of Seychelles as a Lecturer in the Department of Tourism and Cultural Heritage within the Faculty of Business and Sustainable Development in July 2026.

Mrs. Gurira holds a Master of Arts in Cultural Heritage Studies, a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Archaeology and Heritage, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Tertiary Education.

With over 14 years of experience in higher education, she has held academic and heritage management positions, including Lecturer, Assistant Lecturer and Collections Manager. Her professional background encompasses teaching, research, collections management and cultural heritage preservation.

Her areas of expertise include cultural heritage studies, archaeology, museum and collections management, and higher education teaching and learning. She is committed to advancing knowledge of cultural heritage and contributing to the development of future professionals in the tourism and heritage sectors.
