UniSey strengthens its international presence at Russia–Africa Dialogue

The University of Seychelles (UniSey) was represented by Vice-Chancellor Joëlle Perreau at the Second Russia–Africa Raw Materials Dialogue, held in St Petersburg, Russia, from 12 to 15 October 2026. The programme brought together Russian and African university leaders for dedicated academic sessions and discussions on future cooperation.

UniSey was given the opportunity to present its experience and achievements and to engage directly with Russian counterparts and fellow African universities, including members of the Association of African Universities (AAU). Joëlle Perreau was specifically invited to participate as a keynote speaker in the Academic Session for Rectors, where cooperation between Russian universities and the AAU was a central focus.

Although UniSey is among the smaller universities within the AAU, its contribution is by no means small. During the discussions, UniSey’s experience was highlighted as an example of what a small island university can achieve through strategic partnerships, regional engagement, and international cooperation, particularly across the Indian Ocean and Southern African regions.

The mission provided valuable opportunities to strengthen existing relationships, establish new connections, and further position UniSey as a small university with a strong regional voice and a growing international presence.

📢 EVENT POSTPONEMENT NOTICE
