University of Seychelles at WIOMSA 2025
From 28th September to 3rd October, four of our staff members proudly represented UniSey at the 13th WIOMSA Scientific Symposium in Mombasa, Kenya — the largest marine and coastal science conference in the Western Indian Ocean region, with over 1,200 delegates in attendance.
Our team contributed to critical regional dialogues by presenting their research through oral and poster sessions, while also engaging in meaningful knowledge exchange and capacity building.
A proud moment for UniSey: Dr. Murray Duncan, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Environmental Sciences, was honoured with the 2025 Emerging Scientist Award. Congratulations, Dr. Duncan!
