The Vice-Chancellor, Joëlle Perreau, and the Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Seychelles, Ms Jianmei Zhang, participated in the China-Africa University Presidents’ Forum on Frontiers of Education Development, hosted by Hunan University and held in Changsha, China, from 18–26 September 2026.

The Vice-Chancellor was one of two African Vice-Chancellors invited to deliver keynote remarks at the Opening Ceremony. She also participated as a speaker in the parallel session on “China-Africa Cooperation in AI Applications.”

The Forum brought together university leaders from China and Africa to exchange perspectives on higher education cooperation, innovation and the future of education.
