Mr. Reuban Lespoir serves as a Research Officer at the Creole Language and Culture Research Institute (CLCRI) within the Faculty of Research and Innovation. He holds both a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and a Diploma in Primary Education, and brings extensive experience from the education sector, having worked across both primary and tertiary levels.

Reuban began his career as a primary school teacher before transitioning into teacher training, where he contributed to strengthening literacy and pedagogy for Kreol Seselwa. His passion for the Creole language eventually led him into research, where he continues to focus on language development, literacy, culture, and educational innovation.

Widely known as “Mr. Kreol”, Reuban is a strong advocate for Creole language promotion and literacy development. He is the author of several anthologies, with works featured in both local and regional publications. He is also the creator of the national early-literacy project Lavantir bann let alfabet, an initiative aimed at promoting early reading skills through Kreol Seselwa.

Reuban is the recipient of multiple national literary awards, including the Arts Award for Literature and top recognitions in the Pri Antoine Abel Literary Competition. His achievements reflect a deep and ongoing commitment to the promotion, development, and preservation of Creole language, culture, and heritage.
