The Assistant Librarian generally assists the Senior Librarian in the planning of academic and professional work of the Library. 

The post holder is expected to assist with daily tasks of the Library such as issuing new library cards, checking out library materials, receiving returns and determining outstanding materials. She is expected to take over the running of the Library in the absence of the Senior Librarian.
