The overarching priority is to build a global presence. Seychelles is a small island developing state, but the reach and aspirations of its university are international. The University operates on an international platform and this must be reflected in all areas of University life. Through its International Collaboration Schemes, UniSey aspires to:

a) build a strong network of partnerships across the world;

b) offer programmes, teaching and learning experiences that meet international standards;

c) create opportunities for staff and students to gain international exposure;

d) create a platform for staff to work alongside internationally known experts;

e) make provision to increase mobility of students and staff.

This entails the consolidation of agreements, with a move towards broader and multidisciplinary engagement. Partnerships include but are not limited to teaching, programme development, twinning programmes, collaborative research, training, internships, and staff and student exchange cooperation with one or more institutions. One principal aim is to ensure that engagement is beneficial to all parties.

International institutions interested in collaborating with UniSey will be required to complete the Institution form and provide all relevant documentation as specified on the form.

The form and documents must then be submitted to il**@*******ac.sc or il*************@*******ac.sc. Once approved by UniSey, a collaborative formal agreement must be generated in liaison with the international institution.
  • Memorandum of understanding and agreements

Institutions and organisations interested in partnering with UniSey are kindly requested to contact il**@*******ac.sc or il*************@*******ac.sc

  • Incoming visitors

The University of Seychelles welcomes visiting scholars, students, institutional delegates and partners interested in collaborating in academic visits, research or guest lectures.  If you intend to visit UniSey, kindly complete the attached form: Incoming visitors form

*For visitors conducting research, upon UniSey’s confirmation, kindly complete and submit the Seychelles Bureau of Standards for approval:   https://sbs.sc/

This includes the introduction of ongoing programmes for inbound and outbound students and staff, from a range of countries and backgrounds, in all fields. This supports the creation of incoming and outgoing opportunities for students and staff to gain academic credit, learning and cultural experience and international exposure for their involvement in exchange programmes.

INBOUND STUDENT EXCHANGE (for international students)

Students from international institutions can spend a few weeks to a year to study at the University of Seychelles. There are two options:

a) If UniSey is a partner with their home institution:

  • continue as full-time students,
  • pay their tuition fees and other fees to their home institution
  • Ensure study modules are approved jointly by UniSey and their home institution (for credit transfer purposes).

This is subject to the agreement with the home institution.

b) If UniSey is not a partner with their home institution:

  • continue as full-time students
  • pay their tuition fees and other fees to UniSey,
  • Pay any other fees to home institution (subject to the home institution)
  • Ensure study modules are approved jointly by UniSey and their home institution (for credit transfer purposes).

Students interested must complete the Student Exchange/Study Abroad form (form to be reviewed), which further specifies all other requirements. The form should be submitted at least 3 months before the proposed start date.

INBOUND STAFF EXCHANGE (for international visiting scholars)

University staff interested in participating in an exchange at UniSey should complete the Visiting Fellow form.

OUTBOUND STUDENT EXCHANGE (for UniSey students)

UniSey students interested in pursuing an exchange programme at an international institution will be required to notify UniSey before applying and must complete the form below.  Students must have the necessary funding to cover all expenses.

OUTBOUND STAFF EXCHANGE (UniSey staff)

UniSey encourages its staff to participate in staff exchange programmes. Staff interested in participating in exchange programmes should liaise with their respective departments and faculty.

This entails the development of a reputation-building strategy for research in targeted areas which will ultimately result in staff and student participation in international research activities and conferences. Any individuals, internally or externally, wishing to engage in research collaboration should contact the International and Local Engagement Unit to discuss the way forward.  UniSey has the following research Institutes and centres:
