The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) Primary programme is designed to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and professional attitudes required to become effective and reflective primary school practitioners. The programme aims to enhance the quality of teaching and learning for children, adolescents, and adult learners through a strong foundation in pedagogy, reflective practice, and professional experience.
 

Objectives

  • Equip student teachers with strong pedagogical and subject knowledge for primary education
  • Develop reflective and ethical teaching practitioners
  • Strengthen professional practice through theory‑informed teaching
  • Enhance teaching quality in primary education settings
  • Prepare graduates for continued professional development in education
 
  • 3 years (minimum)
  • Up to  5 years depending on study pathway

The programme is offered in English.

The programme is offered full-time and part time (twice a week).

The programme consists of two main components:

  • Theoretical Component

Delivered through lectures and tutorials focusing on pedagogy, curriculum studies, assessment, and professional practice.

  • Practical Component

Work‑Based Experience (WBE) in relevant primary education institutions, enabling students to apply theory to real classroom contexts.

  •  
  • The programme will have two major components: theoretical and practical. The former will be achieved through lectures and tutorials. The latter will involve Work-Based Experience (WBE) in relevant educational institution(s).
  • Programme participants will be supported throughout their programme by lecturers and other support staff to become competent and reflective practitioners.

2 A Levels and 3 O’level / IGCSE qualifications (or equivalent) (any two of these must be English and Mathematics at minimum Grade C)

Or/ with

Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Education and at least 2 years in Teaching.

Or/ with

RPL entry, Certificates entry requirements, recommendation from the employer, and at least 10 years of teaching experience.

SCR 125,000 per year *
