BEd Secondary – 2 year ARTICULATION programme

The BEd Secondary degree programme is a professional teaching qualification designed specifically for those teaching or who wish to teach at secondary level. This 2-year specialist articulation programme is targeted at in-service teachers who have already completed the Diploma in Education.

Minimum 2 years Part-Time ( 3 years maximum )

The programme is offered in English.

To be eligible for the BEd Secondary degree programme you must:

  • Diploma in Education

AND

  • IGCSE English at Grade C or the equivalent

AND

  • IGCSE Mathematics at Grade D or the equivalent

The programme is suitable for mature and external programme participants who will need to provide evidence for requests of recognition of prior learning and/or credit transfer in order to qualify for advance standing.

Participants who wish to have their work experience recognized as entry qualification must provide two letters of reference from their employers and a detailed CV which will be evaluated by the Registration and Admission Committee.

The key principles of the programme aim to provide focus and direction relating to:

  •  Professional practice in education and training
  • Teaching and learning of subject(s) in the Seychelles National Curriculum and;

The programme has two major components:

  • Theoretical – achieved through lectures and tutorials
  • Practical – involves Work-Based Experience (WBE) in relevant educational institution(s).

Programme participants will have the opportunity to specialize in ONE of the following areas:

  • Geography
  • English
  • Mathematics
  • History

SCR 125,000 per year *
